Why You Keep Starting Over (And What to Do Instead This April)

April 07, 20261 min read

We’re into April, and the first quarter is done. If you're honest, you've probably started something...and lost it again.

It’s a good moment to look at what has actually held, not what you planned but what you were able to repeat when life was busy.

Load versus capacity is real and when something doesn’t fit your life, it slips and we start over.

Adding an hour of walking daily in April, around 6,000 steps, can burn approximately 250 additional calories. Over the month, that adds up to around 7,500 calories, leading to roughly 2 lbs/1kg of weight. If part of that hour is at a brisk pace and raises your heart rate, the impact increases, supporting blood sugar, heart health and overall energy.

This daily number matters, not in theory, but in what you can hold first and then build on gradually, so before setting anything new, look at what is already true.

Work Out Your Step Target for Weight Loss
Whatsapp me with your current average step count or your March step count, and I’ll guide you on a step target to support weight loss before the summer.
Don’t overthink it, a rough number is fine.

Spring is about holding something that works.

Love and good vibes,

Jacqueline 💜

P.S.If you’re new here, I publish a short note week. Some weeks are practical, helping you stay active and eat well and the first week of the month is always a space to pause, reflect and reset.
