How to Stay Consistent When Life Gets Busy
June in Review
It's funny how quickly a month passes when you're excited and truly living your word for the month.
June was filled with new beginnings.
Two Break the Cycle groups got underway and by the end of the month, the first had already stepped into the next stage, building momentum over 30 days. There is something special about those early days, when women stop thinking and reading about making a change and quietly begin proving to themselves that they can.
It also meant I did more than my fair share of steps, 364,543 of them. Coaching calls often became walking calls and despite the intense heat, it was inspiring to watch women choose earlier mornings and later evenings rather than waiting for cooler weather.
It was a lovely reminder that consistency is rarely about perfect conditions. More often, it's about finding another way.
How to Stay Consistent When Life Gets Busy
One of the most valuable tools the women took away from Break the Cycle this month was the Minimum Boost.
It's a simple idea: a pre-planned 10 to 15 minute walk for the days when you can't manage your usual walk, or simply don't want to.
No negotiating with yourself. No deciding in the moment. Just one small action that keeps the habit alive.
Why the Minimum Boost Works
For many of the women, it completely changed how they thought about consistency. Instead of feeling like they'd failed, they protected their momentum. Would you believe it? - more often than not, that short walk turned into a longer one anyway.
The Minimum Boost isn't there to replace your best days. It's there so one difficult day doesn't turn into another week of starting over.
Ready to Stop Starting Over?

My lovely, becoming the woman who keeps going is easier with support.
Over 30 days, you become consistently active, giving your weight the chance to keep moving in the right direction while proving to yourself that you really can keep going, even when life doesn't go to plan.
Join a small group of women who have decided they're done with starting over.
August doesn't have to begin with another promise to yourself. It can begin with a routine you trust.
From my Walks & Reads

If there was ever a book to keep you walking long after you meant to head home, it would be The Housemaid. What a thriller. If you're looking for something to make those summer evening walks disappear, this is it. I definitely walked further than I'd planned and went out consistently.
My Promise for July
This month, I'm choosing to protect my momentum.
For me, that means protecting an hour each day for the things that shape my future, even when life is desperately pulling me towards the now.
They're the things that are important but never seem urgent. The projects that Future Jacqueline will thank me for, even though today's Jacqueline could find another dozen things to do.
I've realised it's no different to building healthy habits. Progress rarely comes from one big effort. It comes from showing up, even if it's only for a short time. Those small efforts soon add up.
Consistency isn't just how you lose weight. It's how you build a life you want.
