The monthly boost - Dec 25

January 02, 20262 min read

December felt harried in a good way.
I set myself the intention of being unburdened, after finishing some big things in November.

Being active in December was about maintenance. With travel and setting up a temporary home, I focused on one non-negotiable: getting out when I could. Fewer choices helped as the weather narrowed my options, which meant I could not keep putting it off.

The full Christmas juggle was real with family expectations, home life and work. Having the girls home from uni, sharing meals, stories and easy evenings together grounded everything.

I was also reminded that what looks effortless is usually built on preparation. Even Christmas dinner only works when things are thought through ahead of time, rather than all hands on deck.

December Notes

It was a month of holding rather than pushing. I focused on keeping the basics steady, protecting my energy and letting routine flex without breaking.

Small walks, simple meals and quieter evenings did more for my wellbeing than trying to do everything perfectly.

It was a reminder that consistency does not disappear just because life looks different. Sometimes it simply changes shape preparing us for the next stage, which in this case is January, the the month fuelled by motivational energy.

New Year Boost

1️⃣Anchor your steps
Choose one daily anchor for walking in January. Morning, lunchtime or early evening. Decide it now so you are not negotiating with yourself later.

2️⃣Protect one meal
Pick one meal of the day that you will keep balanced and predictable. Not perfect, just steady. One anchor meal can stabilise everything else.

3️⃣Make one clear decision
Identify one thing that will weigh you down if you carry it into 2026. Decide what you are doing about it and take the first step. Clarity creates momentum.

From my Walks & Reads

Charlotte McConaghy shaped the end of my audiobook year.
2025 was a year of some truly immersive stories and getting lost in them became one of the quiet things that shaped my year. They’re often the reason I keep moving even on the darker days pushing my step count to over 4 million in 2025.

My Promise for January - What's yours?

As I head into January, it feels like a season of trust. I’ve worked hard through 2025, cultivating, watering, structuring and showing up. Now I’m choosing faith, the fruit will come. January isn’t about starting again. It’s about allowing what’s already been built to grow.
