New year energy, big intentions and a strong urge to do more.
Motivation is useful but so is restraint.
If we burn through all that fired-up energy in January, we often combust by February.
Zig Ziglar said, "Life is a marathon, not a sprint."
We do that by putting structure in place and using motivation to stick to it, not exhaust it.
This is especially true with being active. Going from little activity to everything at once is how routines collapse. A simple, repeatable steps routine you can build on will always beat an intense start you can’t sustain.
The women who keep going through the year aren’t the most motivated. They’re the ones who build something realistic early and let momentum grow.
