Hey lovely,
It's Move More Monday and summer is in full swing 🌞
I'm almost at day 50 of my 10-minute strength routine using a free app and it hasn't been perfect
💬 On my Best 10 days? I did 8 out of 10.
💬 On my “Off” 10 days? Still managed 5.
The win? - not flawless streaks but simply not stopping.
The result? - I had visible changes to my body after 10 days and I'm stronger and more in control.
Between holidays, kids home and the shift in routines, it’s easy for movement to slide down the list so this is your reminder that consistency beats perfection.
The secret is attaching your commitment to something you're already doing this summer. Think of it as building your "commitment muscle" - but with a seasonal twist.
Here's how to make it work:
☀️ Morning Summer Walker? Attach your steps to that first cup of coffee on the patio. Before you sit down to enjoy it, take a 15-20 minute walk around the neighborhood. The morning air is crisp, the streets are quiet, and you'll start your day feeling accomplished. (Pro tip: Set your walking kit out the night before!)
🌞 Midday Mover? If you're working from home this summer, attach your steps to lunch break. Instead of scrolling your phone while eating, take a brisk walk right after your meal. The warm afternoon sun will boost your energy for the rest of the day.
🌅 Evening Stroller? Summer evenings are made for walking! Attach your steps to after-dinner time. Instead of immediately settling in front of the TV, take a walk around your area and take the kids out. Enjoy those gorgeous long summer evenings.
The magic happens when you pick ONE time and stick with it. Your brain starts expecting it, your body starts craving it and suddenly you're hitting your steps even when life gets wonderfully messy.
Remember consistency beats perfection: 50-60% is a long way from zero!
What summer routine will you attach your steps to? Hit reply and let me know - I love hearing about your wins!
Keep moving this summer,
Jacquelinexx
