How are you doing?
I got a whatsApp message on Monday reminding me that there are 4 months, 17 weeks or 121 days left in the year. Honestly, it was a little jarring to see it laid out crystal clear. But having asked the Lord to teach me to number my days, I was immediately drawn to the biggest number: 121.
Here’s why.
I’ve been putting in an enormous no of hours lately but still feeling like I’m not quite hitting the goals I’d hoped for. One of my gurus used a football analogy that really stuck with me. She said: “The best advice I was ever given was this, just kick the ball straight down the field to the goal.”
It made me stop and think. With all the energy I’ve been pouring in, where was my ball actually going? Yes, I had my eye on it, but, was I in control because I seem to be dribbling. As I reflected on this piece of wisdom, I realised I was adding new plays, tweaking old ones, starting fresh ideas all the time… all useful, but with no real direction. Quite frankly, when you’re a solo entrepreneur, endless dribbling is just exhausting.
So here’s what I’ve decided: for the next 121 days, I’m going to be laser-focused. No more passing the ball around. I’ve set the goal, mapped out the plays and now it’s time to kick straight down the field.
September is the last month of the quarter and so I always ask myself:
✨ What big strides can I take this month to move closer to my goals?

✨If I only focused on one thing for the next 30 days, what would move me forward most?
✨ What distractions do I need to ignore to stop the dribbling?
✨What does taking a “big stride” this month look like for me?
Write it down, make it real and then take the shot.
