How to Stop Mindless Evening Snacking During the Summer

July 30, 20261 min read

Hey hon,

What does summer look like in your house?

Why Summer Makes Healthy Eating Harder

Mine has changed a lot over the last twenty years but one thing has stayed exactly the same. It's wonderfully chaotic.

When the girls were little, it was days out and baking. Now they're older, it's people eating at different times, popping into the kitchen for something small, cupboards opening all day long and fresh baked treats to boot.

I love having everyone home, but one thing I've learnt is that if the kitchen never really closes, neither does the eating.

One Simple Habit to Stop Evening Snacking

So I have a simple habit that I double down on over the summer. At some point in the evening, I make a cup of tea and that becomes my signal that the kitchen is closed for the day.
One small habit like that can make a surprising difference over a few weeks because it quietly reduces all those little extras that add up without you noticing.

Build Habits That Hold Through the Summer

If your routines feel a bit all over the place this summer, you're not alone. That's exactly why I love running Break the Cycle at this time of year.

It starts this Friday 31st and over ten days we'll build simple habits around both movement and food that hold even when the house is full and the kitchen never quite closes.

I'd love to have you with us.
